This ancient mesquite tree,
situated approximately 2 kms south of Jebel Dukhan, derives its
name from its solitary existence in the midst of the arid desert.
The Tree, whose source of water remains a mystery, sheds its
leaves in the winter but grows yellow flowers in the spring and
summer. The incongruity of this landmark with its surroundings
has raised the curiosity of visitors and specialists alike and
makes it a “must see” destination for tourists.
